Thee Headcoats
Thee Headcoats were mainly Billy Childish, Git/Vox, Bruce Brand, drums, (who had already earned the crown of “Kings of Raw Rhythm ’n’ Beat Punk” in the UK with their earlier bands, The Pop Rivets and The Milkshakes), and Johnny Johnson ,bass, and they formed in 1989 after Billy’s previous band Thee Mighty Caesers gave up the ghost. Trying to sum up the career and discography of Thee Headcoats in just a few lines is basically impossible (between 1989 and 1999, Thee Headcoats would go on to record 19 albums and more than double that amount of 45s!!). If you’re heading to Funtastic, we’re pretty sure you already know one of the greatest garage-punk bands ever—but just in case, here’s a link to Damaged Goods, the label that’s released their latest stuff (and yeah, they’re absolute masterpieces).
Since their first—and only— show in our country back in 1997 at “Serie B Festival” , Thee Headcoats haven’t played in Spain again.
As you can imagine, we’re way too excited to sleep!!!
