Escape-Ism is the solo project of Ian Svenonius, the extraordinary frontman of bands like The Make Up, Chain and the Gang or Nation of Ulysses.
A tireless creator, he is, in addition to being a musician and singer, a writer. He wrote the books “Supernatural Strategies for Making a Rock’n’Roll Group” , “The Psychic Soviet”, and “Censorship Now!!”.
He has directed the documentary “What Is A Group?” and is the host of Soft Focus, a talk show among musicians that preceded many later imitators.
Escape-Ism reinvents rock’n’roll in the same way that the motor reinvented the way of traveling. It is a fascinating and terrifying response to the current scene, full of proposals without content.
