Formed in Perth in 1978 , the punk pop hooks of “Frantic Romantic” & “Last Night” removed them from their hometown to wider acclaim, re-emerging in Sydney with a darker, primitive concoction similar to that of The Stooges, Suicide, Cramps, Gun Club, Sonic Youth and The Birthday Party. What followed were a string of swamp rock classics such as “Atom Bomb Baby”, “Swampland”, “We Had Love” and “Human Jukebox” and a relocation to London before imploding in 1987.
For 20 years the band appeared dormant, until they re-emerged in 2006 for All Tomorrow’s Parties reforming for various tours including the Don’t Look Back Australian tour along with Sonic Youth performing Blood Red River and Daydream Nation respectively.
In 2021, two years after being inducted into the WA Music Hall Of Fame, they released their first studio album in 34 years, “Negativity” making it onto most “top albums for the year” lists.
AND NOW – finally, The Scientists are back – ready to tour that album plus play selections from their back catalogue.
With songs like “When Fate Deals Its Mortal Blow”, “Murderess In a Purple Dress”, “Atom Bomb Baby”, “If It’s the Last Thing I Do”, the Scientists were always the ultimate post apocalyptic band!

The New Bomb Turks are an American punk rock band formed at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, United States, in 1990.The founding members are Jim Weber, Eric Davidson, Bill Randt, and Matt Reber.(Sam Brown replaced Bill Randt on drums in 1999). The band’s name refers to the main character (Newbomb Turk) in the 1980 film The Hollywood Knights, played by Robert Wuhl.
Early on their inspiration came from the Devil Dogs, Lazy Cowgirls, Union Carbide Productions, Didjits, and the Fluid.Music magazine Alternative Press has described their musical style, saying, “Not only have both prole-threat punk bashery and destructo-rock found fresh voices, they’ve been melded into a seamless new terror all its own.”
The New Bomb Turks have released ten full-length LPs, two EPs, and over twenty singles y the most important punk labels: Datapanik, Sympathy For The Record Industry, Get Hip y Bag of Hammers, Crypt Records, Epitaph Records y Gearhead Records.
As of 2005, the New Bomb Turks have slowed down their touring and recording in order to pursue other interests, playing from time to time.
They are one of those bands that will forever mark the punk rock story. To see a concert of the quartet is to live a forbidden experience, a moment suspended between madness, screams, trances and electric shocks. The leader Eric Davidson does not come on stage, he takes it and leaves it only once the public ko standing. DON´T MISS THEM!!!

The Make-Up is an American post-punk band from Washington, D.C. formed in 1995, consisting of ex-Nation of Ulysses frontman Ian Svenonius on vocals, James Canty on guitar and organ, Steve Gamboa on drums, and Michelle Mae on bass guitar. The Make-Up were joined in late 1999 by a fifth member, Alex Minoff (of the groups Golden and Extra Golden) who played guitar with the group until the band’s dissolution in early 2000.
They combined garage rock, soul, and a self-styled liberation theology to make a new genre they called “Gospel Yeh-Yeh”. This style led to an emphasis on live performances and interaction between the band and their audience, incorporating the audience into the performances as a “fifth member”, creating what one reviewer described as “”highly energetic and participatory live shows”. Parallel to the band’s gospel musical stylings, the Make-Up produced music under a communism-influenced political philosophy that they saw as counter to the capitalist form of modern rock and roll and pop music.
The Make-Up released four studio albums, two live albums, a compilation release collecting several singles and B-sides, and a number of vinyl singles, all released on independent record labels such as Dischord Records, K Records, and Southern Records.
The band reformed in 2012 to perform at All Tomorrow’s Parties, and has continued to tour sporadically in the U.S. and Europe with drummer Mark Cisneros (Des Demonas, Kid Congo Powers and the Pink Monkey Birds) replacing Gamboa, playing in big open air festivals.
