Brothers Jeff and Steve McDonald formed Redd Kross (originally Red Cross) in Hawthorne, California, in the late ’70s. Their first show was opening for Black Flag. In 1980, when they were only 17 and 13 years old respectively, their debut album was published, the legendary EP “Posh Boy” featuring members of Black Flag and Circle Jerks. From this moment on, the biography and discography is so dense and complete that it is better to leave you a link to their website so as not to take up pages and pages.
The McDonald brothers have kept Redd Kross together over the decades, releasing multiple studio albums and a host of LPs and singles.
They have also been busy with various side projects as producers for other bands and even odd jobs as actors.
Redd Kross, totally unclassifiable, are one of those groups that everyone loves. The wonderful documentary “Born Innocent: The Redd Kross Story” is hitting theaters and we totally recommend watching it to get an idea of its history and greatness.
Their new album will be released this week (June 28th) through In The Red Records and if this were not enough, in autumn we will also have their biography in the best book stores. 2024 is the year of Redd Kross!  Band’s current lineup features brothers Jeff and Steven, plus Jason Shapiro on guitar, along with Dale Crover (Melvins) on drums.
We are on cloud nine since we know that they are going to play at the Funtastic stage. Sometimes dreams become true!!
