Useless Eaters is a dynamic punk and garage rock band that emerged onto the music scene in 2008, hailing from Memphis, Tennessee. The project is the brainchild of musician Seth Sutton, who started as a protege of the late Jay Reatard. Useless Eaters has carved out a niche for themselves with their raw, high-energy sound and unapologetic attitude.
Drawing inspiration from the raw intensity of punk rock’s early days, Useless Eaters infuse their music with a sense of urgency and social critique. Their sound pays homage to the DIY ethos of underground music scenes while pushing boundaries and exploring new sonic territories.
Since their inception, Useless Eaters have released several albums and EPs, each showcasing their evolution as a band while staying true to their punk roots. From the relentless drive of “Daily Commute” (2011) to the abrasive energy of “Bleeding Moon” (2014) and the dark, atmospheric tones of “Relaxing Death” (2019), their discography reflects a band unafraid to experiment and challenge conventions.
Live performances by Useless Eaters are legendary for their raw power and electrifying stage presence. With frenetic guitar riffs, pounding drums, and pissed off vocals, they command attention and incite chaos in the best possible way, leaving audiences exhilarated and hungry for more.
As torchbearers of the DIY punk ethos, Useless Eaters continue to inspire and invigorate the underground music scene with their uncompromising approach and infectious energy. With each release and performance, they reaffirm their status as one of the most exciting and vital bands in contemporary punk rock.
The project has released records with the likes of Goner Records, Castle Face Records, and Slovenly Recordings. They have toured around the world in notable cities such as Melbourne, Los Angeles, New York City, London, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona and more.
After an 8 year hiatus and many fans reaching out, Useless Eaters is back in action. To kick off some new music into the world, the band will release two 7 inch EP’s on Los Angeles label Under The Gun Records and Goodbye Boozy from Italy, respectively, with a release early this summer.
